Notes
This is a study of another part of the fragment in Adam vol.26/73; unlike the latter, this drawing is inscribed with a capital L, which suggests the hand is that of Nicolas-François-David Lhuiller (d.1793). The fragment here was not illustrated in H. d'Espouy, Fragments d'Architecture Antique (2 vols., Paris, 1905), but it is illustrated in G. B. Piranesi, Vasi, Candelabri, Cippi, Sarcophagi, etc. (Rome, 1778) as 'questo si vede nella Villa Medici a Roma'.
